Paying Homage to the Art of Music

Hello all. Not that I am that old, but I remember loving music just as much in my youth as I do today. I've been told many times, "you have an old soul." I remember being able to decipher and comprehend song lyrics way before my time, but the lyrical content was not the only thing that caught my attention, so did album cover art. Album cover art, at least in the past, before the forced shift to CDs, was a powerful component of the album itself. It allowed for the musicians and the artists to express themselves greater, visually. Covers ran the gamut of styles, themes, and portraitures.

With that being said, I've pulled together images of some cool covers. Take a look.

To bad cd covers are so small. One can hardly put any art on it.

I agree cd covers should be as important as the songs and should stand out. That Pink Floyd and Diana ROss covers are bold, i love them.
For the 21 century, check the Coldplay cover for "Rush of blood to the head" (I love them) and "death magnetic" by Metallica (not a big fan but when I saw the cover at walmart I wanted to buy the cd, it wasnt a picture but art make out of paper. So just go to your music store and try to find it)

@lazyking and @jamwes, thanks for stopping by.

@jamwes your right, cds are so small, it takes away from what the art could really be.
